In reply to <a href="https://gypsycafe.org/2026/03/29/beyond-apocalypse-part-3-the-great-crossing/#comment-284977">Dalo</a>.

Randall I appreciate your frank feedback and thank you for the praise. I think it is very good to be skeptical and cycle science can only provide (very) broad outlines of shifts and transformations that do not take place everywhere equally and are mostly subtle. What I find useful is how cycle science provides me with a framework that contextualizes reality in a unique way prompting (further) research into various directions to broaden my own understanding.

As far as consciousness shifts are concerned, they happen primarily on a personal level which is why I so often revert back to Jungian philosophy. The reason why many people felt that the Maya 2012-shift was such a "let-down" was because they externalized the event totally (as people tend to do in a very materialistic age). I will gladly admit though that I'm holding thumbs for a type of revival with regards to the study of cycles in the years to come, but if that doesn't happen I won't be disappointed (as I understand that this is a niche subject area).

According to Edward Edinger, Carl Jung believed that as long as a few people (the number is not that important) in every nation are aware of the importance of the times we are in (that we are undergoing a shift in consciousness) which would lead to a new understanding of our relationship with the Divine, the apocalypse would already have been transcended as the consciousness is already arriving in those who become aware of what is happening in advance.

Jung was actually referring to the end of the 2000-year Christian age (edit: and a transition to a new one), so he was a cycle scientist in his own right, although he did not emphasize the technical aspects of the cycles much. I will be touching on this topic further in the next chapter and also look at prophecies regarding these times, so it's bound to get even more esoteric ...

Wishing you and yours a very good Easter Weekend however you practice or spend it. Enjoy Spring!

Another masterpiece with your research and writing Jean-Jacques. While I’m skeptical of the most part of pinning cosmic transformations of Maya calendrics and cycle science, I can see your path of reasoning. And you weave Jung, Girard, Maya cosmology, and cycle science into a coherent narrative of the Core Transition Era. The idea of the apocalypse primarily as inner revelation and rebalancing of opposites, rather than just outer catastrophe hits, as this is something found across Daoism and other philosophies. Well done!
